Indigo Fields - Then and Now:

Development of Indigo Fields began in 1989. Shortly after hurricane Hugo hit the coast of South Carolina, the original developer went bankrupt and the bank took over the neighborhood.  Eventually, the bank held an auction and sold many lots to individual buyers.  Many of these individuals had custom homes built on their properties (with the approval of the ACC).  After a time, more lots were sold to developers and additional homes were built (again, with the approval of the ACC).  A very few vacant lots remain.  One difference between Indigo Fields and many other developments is that the majority of the homes were custom built by different builders rather than the "cookie cutter" tract homes seen elsewhere.  Each home is different yet they look like they belong together.

Currently, Indigo Fields is a quiet, friendly, safe place to live. Homes and grounds are well kept. Landscaping is maturing.  Neighbors wave as you walk or drive by.  Children play and ride their bicycles. Adults walk and jog for exercise. Tell someone you live in Indigo Fields and they will understand your pride.

Although the signage at the entrance to development indicates Indigo Fields, there are actually four separate developments, each with their own homeowners associations.  As you enter from Dorchester road, the first road on your left leads to Indigo Terrace.  The second road on your left leads to the Indigo Pointe development.  Proceeding straight on Indigo Fields Boulevard takes you to Indigo on the Ashley.

Indigo Fields is located in Dorchester County within the city limits of North Charleston, South Carolina, USA.  Indigo Fields is convenient to Charleston, North Charleston, and Summerville.  Shopping and restaurants are nearby.  Children from Indigo Fields attend Dorchester County District 2 schools, some of the best in the area.
